It Ain´t About the Stuff

Having to carry everything with you makes you focus on what you really need. It isn´t a lot really. For too much stuff just gets in the way.

However, as I´ve tried to indicate, I´m not the most stylish person walking around Munich. It´s freezing cold and my down jacket makes me look like ´Michelin Man´. But then I´ve just drawn a picture in my book to keep a two year old happy while his mother browsed in the book shop.

Understandably he was a bit wary of Michelin Man but he did recognise my two stick people, with a house and a tree. (Future generations of art crtics may refer to this as my ´early sticky phase´). Anyway, his mother was grateful. That good feeling will keep me going for a bit longer than any stuff.

You should read all this with a bit of scepticism however, since this blog is unofficially sponsored by Ebay and Aldi. They were the source of much of what I brought with me. So I was never the most profligate b****r to start with and therefore not likely to splash out on the lastest new gadget. Plus I have the comfort of knowing what I´ve got to go back to. And it ain´t the stuff I miss.
