Munich Had Bach

Munich is a nice place. The architecture is impressive, the weather bright and the public transport system works well.

But best of all are the sights and sounds in the streets. The city seems populated by street vendors who roast chestnuts or offer sweet coated hazel nuts. Meanwhile the sound of accordian players drifts around every corner with a Central European lilt to the music - all Strauss and Bach, or such like.

And the church towers are starting to have onions on top. The Stadthaus even has a glockenspiel with figures that come out every hour to dance to the music. I can´t see that getting past Cambridge City Council.

It´s all very Hapsburgian, if that´s a word
