Much A Do About Nothing - Salina - August 27th

Nine times out of ten it does that: turn out alright. Make that ten as I can't think of a time when it didn't. You set off looking for a place to pitch the tent and you find one. This time it was pure chance that I sighted an Agritursmo sign, a bit weather beaten but still recent enough to be current. When I asked for further directions the nice man even follwed me in his car to make sure I found it. And as chance would have it, when I did the owner was outside. Yes it was an Agriturismo but only for food, not to sleep. But can I camp? Sure there is lots of space around the back, just choose where you want. So I did.

No charge, a family of donkeys to keep me company and a dog who wanted to make friends but I was just too tired.

And I've learnt something: don't hang  trying to find a farmer, especially at 5pm. He'll be out in the fields. Just collar one when you see him and then ask for that place to pitch.
