"On this holiday" Sally proclaimed, "I'm just going to sit, read, eat and drink - a real rest". I readily concurred. I didn't need to see another mountain-topped walled town, a church, a museum or a restored countryhouse. Complete relaxation was the order of the day.
So on the way to the wedding (that is in fact the excuse for this holiday) we passed Montipulciano, of wine producing fame, set on a hill top and looking very picturesque. I could see what was coming but my protests went in vain.
"Let's stop and explore. Walk off our breakfast." she suggested.
I reminded her of the 'no exertion' edict. But that plan was for the holiday and apparently it hadn't started yet
