Trains are tempting things. They run along side the road racing ahead of you and making a noise that sounds like: 'get on board, get on board...' And when you pull into town they are waiting at the station tempting you with the knowledge that in a day or two you could be much further down the line.
But then you think: why do I need to rush on? What is it about further down the line that can be any better than where you are now? When I get home I will dream about life on the road with all its unexpected adventures. We yearn for the next place when here is absolutely fine.
p.s. the only reason I can think of for rushing on is that state you reach on holiday when you say "when I get home, I am going to do that". It is a sign that the holiday has worked its magic. It makes you want to get on and achieve some thing. We can't all wander around aimlessly. Someone has to push the pea forward.
