Over the River

The kind gentleman walked me  all the way to the Tourist Information Office in Corbeil Essones. He'd been a cyclist himself once and just wanted to help. The three girls on the desk had clearly never been asked about camping before so it took some delving. But we eventually found a couple of possibilities quite close, just across the River Seine which ran through the town barley 100 metres away.

"All you need to do is take the bridge which is just out of the door on the left, no right. Anyway after you have crossed the river then turn left, or is it right? It is left isn't it. Which is left, I never can remember? Well it's down stream. Are you sure? Which way does the river flow as I thought it was up."

By this stage all I was seeking was confirmation and I wasn't getting any. But that was fine. They had already told me what I needed to know, so they could move on to advising the next person.

I soon found the campsite. On a clear day you could almost see it from the tourist office.
