I'll Have What She's Having

You know what it's like when you go into a bar in France, or Spain, or Italy and want to drink like the locals. They have a glass in front of them filled with some exotic looking liquid that's often red or yellow, sometimes with bubbles. If only I knew what to ask for. Normally I would chicken out and settle for a beer but this time I got lucky.

When I ordered the bar lady responded "Avec Pichon?" and then poured a thick red, evil looking liquid into the glass and topped it up with beer. Embassy Security Man and I had another as they were so good. It looked and tasted a bit like Dubonet and beer. The problem comes when you go to pay as I found that, somehow, the drink gives you pins and needles in your left leg. It stops working properly when you stand up, so you sway a little on the way to the bar. But I think that I hid it well. No one commented, at least not that I noticed.
